The band played a storming set last night in front of 900 fans at the sold out QEH last night.

Despite suffering from a virus Pye gave a fantastic performance and the band responded with one of their best ever gigs.

The set-list was changed around to give room for more songs from their 1973 album “For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night”.

One of the many highlights from the set was the suite of “L’Auberge du Sanglier / A Hunting We Shall Go”.

    Amazing set at QEH last night I am pleased to have been a fan from the the first album long may caravan continue to perform and entertain with their brilliant music.

    Absolutely brilliant Caravan concert again! These boys never let you down. Their music is so magical such a combination of gorgeous tunes fun lyrics and passionate playing. In my opinion no other rack band has ever written anything so exciting as Nine Feet Underground…

    Excellent set last night. So good to hear more from FGWGPITN again.
    Particularly enjoyed the Hunting We Will Go suite.
    The guys all seemed to be having as much fun as the audience which was great to see.

    We had a great evening in London. I was pleasantly surprised by how different Mark Walkers’ drumming made to the Caravan “sound”. We sat slightly behind and to the left of the mixing desk and to be honest I thought the sound and mix (where we sat) was cr*p. Gotta say that I also missed that extra guitar which I thought had augmented the band however that was then…. (however loved all Geoff’s contributions). Some confusion occurred at the end of Hoedown ? Anyway rock on guys and please next can we have some dates in the South of England (CF South West) and looking forward to a new album soon !

    Tickets were all gone by the time I read it was coming in the Guardian guide so my vague idea about persuading our neighbours opposite who were students in Canterbury back then which might then lead to my dear wife agreeing to come along [our ‘courting’ days/nights were soundtracked to ‘Golf Girl’].I now have the album on the iPod and recently was running it alphabetically and up came Nine Feet Underground as a follow-up to Nightbus Topdeck by The Black String Cat and they formed a nice combination – have a listen [free on Balloontwister records].
