Saw the show last night. Have been an ardent fan for over 49 years and have seen the band numerous times, but last night’s gig was something else! The best concert I have ever seen (and that includes Floyd, The Who, Yes, ELP and countless others). Took my wife along and she has never been into any form of rock but was utterly bowled over.
The venue helped as it is small and intimate, and band’s interaction with the audience made the event well worth waiting for. But the sheer professionalism and delivery was second to none and this, coupled with Caravan’s unique style, made the evening something to remember for many years to come.
Please pass on my thanks, admiration and best wishes to all the band who, after last night, now feel like personal acquaintances if not friends. Especially pass on my congratulations to Mark whose performance was superb. I have never seen a drummer enjoy himself so much!
Of course there were disappointments in that some of my favourite numbers weren’t included. But the show was none the worse for it and the new songs seem to hit the mark better than some previous “new material”.
Thanks again to all the band: it was an honour to be there. All that now remains is to buy Paradise Filter.

I too was at this gig with my wife (who introduced me to Caravan in the 70’s). First time at the Picturedrome and quite impressed with the intimacy of the venue (not to mention the ale at the bar). Hint, if you’re going to see the group here again, use the old bridge hotel right next door, it’s not bad either!
What a fantastic performance! We last saw the group in January last year at Salford Lowry and couldn’t wait for this one to come around. It was well worth the wait. Love the new material and worship the old!
Well done guys, you’ve clearly still got what it takes to get an audience going and we’ll be coming again when you’re in t’north. Oh, and just ordered my Paradise Filter CD – Hurry up and get it signed!
